Under the sun’s finger touch, a fragrance lasting for one hundred years has been acquired in Taiwan

Sun Cake, also known as Turtle Cake, is one of the well-known souvenirs in Taichung. It has 120 layers of crispy and fragrant skin and is covered with resilient soft malt filling. The taste is solid and sweet but not greasy. The founder A Dongshi broke through the conventional sun cake technology, insisting on kneading the dough by hand, improving the gluten property of the dough, being able to completely coat the malt with high activity, and using the glutinous rice malt. After many adjustments to achieve a harmonious balance, he developed a 65:35 golden skin-stuffing ratio Ruyitang uniquely owns. It is a craftsmanship hitting the point with golden color and delicate aroma, having won the honor of Taiwan's sun cake champion five times.  

Flip over to recreate classics and converse with the world

"In tradition and classics, we choose to create classics." No limit is our research and development spirit. The process taking  pastry as a carrier interprets the mentors' feelings for the land. Taking classic tea and small farmers' fruits as main concern, it tries to superimpose new possibilities on the original flavor, showing the new style of pastry and continuing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship. Making a kind of cake Taiwan young people are proud of, it steps onto the world stage.

Roaming Taichung to compose a sweet taste

"A cup of tea along with a piece of cake" turns on the sense switch and throws off the hustle and bustle. The original store of Ruyitang in Fengjia, Taichung has reinnovated the conventional sun cake and launched Taiwan's first innovative flavors such as kumquat sun cake and Tieguanyin one. Over years, fondly loved by oversea tourists from Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Malaysia, it has composed a taste that travelers long for from the sweet memories of hometown.
